Privacy Policy

1. Data stored on your device

Moonee stores the financial information you enter on your device. This may include transactions, income, accounts, budgets, upcoming payments, reminders, subscriptions, assets, debts, notes, and related planning information.

Moonee also stores app settings and locally generated summaries needed to show balances, forecasts, and reports. These local summaries can be rebuilt from your records.

2. Local backup

You can export a backup file or choose a folder for scheduled backups. Moonee writes those files only to the location you select. Moonee does not upload them to its own server.

Backup files remain under your control. Anyone who can access a backup file may be able to read the financial data it contains.

3. Permissions and selected data

• Microphone: Used only when you start voice input. Moonee does not retain the audio recording. Android's speech-recognition service may process audio online when offline recognition is unavailable.
• Contacts: Used only after you choose a borrower or lender. The selected name, phone number, and photo may be stored locally and included in a backup you export.
• Usage access: If you grant Usage Access for Subscription Guard, Moonee reads foreground app-usage events needed to summarize active days, sessions, time used, and last use. These summaries stay on your device unless you export them in a backup.
• Camera, images, and documents: Access occurs only when you choose a photo or file for OCR, thumbnails, import, or export.
• Notifications: Used for reminders, important financial notices, and quick-add actions when you grant notification permission.

Moonee does not request SMS, Call Log, precise location, approximate location, broad storage, or accessibility permissions.

4. Payments

Moonee uses Google Play Billing for Premium purchases and restores. Google Play processes the payment and associates the purchase with your Google Play account. Moonee does not receive or store your payment-card number.

5. AI and financial summaries

Moonee does not automatically send your financial records to OpenAI, Anthropic, Claude, Gemini, or another AI provider. If you choose to copy a financial summary, Moonee creates it locally and asks for confirmation before placing it on the clipboard. After you paste it into another app, that app's privacy and retention terms apply.

6. How data is used and shared

Moonee uses local data only to provide the features you request. Tesseract Lab does not sell your personal data and does not use it for advertising.

Moonee has no account system and does not send your financial records to a Moonee cloud database. Google Play processes the technical and purchase data needed for app distribution, updates, reviews, and billing under Google's terms and privacy policy.

7. Retention and deletion

Local data remains on your device until you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall Moonee. Backup files remain in the location you selected until you delete them.

Moonee does not hold an account or cloud copy of your financial data.

8. Security

Protect your device and any backup files you export. No security method can remove every risk.

9. Children

Moonee is not designed for children and is not intended for users under 13.

10. Changes

This policy may be updated when Moonee's data practices or legal requirements change. The latest version and its effective date are published at this URL.
